Celebrate World Book Day

Did you know that every year UNESCO celebrates World Book Day as way to bring people from over the world together to celebrate books and reading? It is their core belief that every child and young person deserves the chance to have a book of their own. As avid readers (and mothers of book worms) we couldn’t love this more!

The Gruffalo - This is a rhyming story of a mouse and a monster. Little mouse goes for a walk in a dangerous forest. To scare off his enemies he invents tales of a fantastical creature called the Gruffalo. So imagine his surprise when he meets the real Gruffalo.

Do Not Open This Book - This guy will do anything for you not to open this book! Threats, bribes, reverse psychology – you name it! Young readers will love doing everything they’re asked not to!

Pig the Pug - Pig is the greediest Pug in the world. He is ill-tempered, rude and unreasonable. When Pig the Pug is asked to share his toys, something unexpected happens. Hopefully Pig has learned a lesson!


Oi Frog - Cats sit on mats, hares sit on chairs, mules sit on stools and gophers sit on sofas. But Frog does not want to sit on a log. Jam-packed with animals and silliness, this original rhyming story is guaranteed to get children giggling!

The Book with No Pictures - You might think a book with no pictures would be boring and serious. Except . . . here's how this book works: Everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it aloud. Even if the words say BLORK and even if they have to say things like BLAGGITY BLAGGITY and MY HEAD IS MADE OF BLUEBERRY PIZZA! That's the rule.
