If you grow beans when reading ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ here a is a cute template to records the bean’s growth.
We planted broad beans in a clear plastic cup so we would be able to see the seeds, roots etc growing.
Enlarge to A3 to give students enough room to write and draw.
It asks students what plants need to survive and has a grid to complete a plant diary.
I get my kids to draw and label what they can see.
Normally around 4-5 days apart. It also has room for a photo of the plant when they have finished watching it grow, and underneath a chance for them to record how many cubes tall it is.
Included are the template for the clouds and castle if you would like to add them to your plant.
We added cotton wool balls and a skewer and pushed it into the soil so that as the plant grows it goes up around the castle.
