Description

Open Mic is a great way to encourage fluency, expression and confidence when reading.

You may like to provide your students with a variety of passages, poems, readers theatre etc to choose from.

They then practise reading their passage with fluency, expression and good voice projection until they feel confident to read it in front of the class.

Once they feel confident students place their name on the”Open Mic” poster.

You may like to get a recordable microphone so that they can listen to their reading at the end.

It would also be a great addition to an online portfolio such as SeeSaw.

Included in this resource are certificates that you can award at the end of the session for all of their hard work and practise.

At the end of the term, semester or year you may like to have an open mic afternoon where all parents are invited to come in and be the audience.
