Roll a Rime is a great way for your students to practise blending together the 3 sounds of a cvc word focusing on the onset and rime of words.

To play they roll an onset dice (yellow) and the rime dice (either pink or blue) then blend the sounds on both dice together to create a word. They will then decide if it is a real or nonsense word.

There is also a coloured and black and white recording sheet included in the resource, you may like to have your students record their words onto the sheet. Alternatively they could just use the dice and record and real words made onto a mini whiteboard.
