Number Push Pin Activity

Push pin (thumb tack) activities are a great way to develop early fine motor skills.

To use simply copy the number onto white paper and then attach it to the front of a piece of coloured card (we suggest stapling it to the front using just one staple - this will be removed at the end).

Then have your students lay on the floor (or another soft surface), and use a push pin/thumb tack to poke through each dot on the number. Once each hole has been poked, remove the front white page and then hang in the window to see the rays of sunshine stream through!

This is a great way for your students to not only develop their fine motor skills, but also work on their knowledge of number formation.

If you'd like to use this activity during rotations you can find the instruction card in our Fine Motor Task Card resource.
